J is a three time participant of the Eugene O'Neill Puppetry Conference, a Catapult Artist with the 2017 Chicago International Puppet Theatre Festival, and has participated twice (2019/2021) as a resident artist with the Object Movement Festival.

 

They were one of two Emerging Artists at the 2022 O'Neill Puppetry Conference where they workshopped their original piece, Bequeathed. Recently they were awarded a workshop grant from The Jim Henson Foundation and a grant from New York State Council for the Arts to continue development on Bequeathed.

Lately their work has been taking them deeper in the world of fiber arts, period dramas, and queerdom- with a dash of whimsy and humor. They were an artist in residence for the month of August for the 2023 season at Governor's Island.
